The Best Types of Brand Photos for Husband and Wife Businesses

I’m not sure if this happens everywhere, but here in the Hawkesbury Western Sydney, people love working with local family-run businesses. So it makes sense to really highlight this aspect of your business in your visual brand so you can stand out on the values people are actually looking for.

But, creating brand photos for a husband and wife team can be tricky. If it’s not done strategically or authentically, you might run the risk of your photos looking cold and distant (like any other corporate team photo) or cheesy and inappropriate like a romantic couple’s photoshoot!

When talking with Debbie from Christou Homes during our planning consultation, she mentioned that photos of her and her husband Mark received way more engagement that any other content she posted on social media. And why wouldn’t they? People love to see the faces behind the brand - and even more so if it’s a husband and wife team. So, as well as creating all the other photo content Christou Homes needed, we made sure to double down on what her audience was already telling them - they love to see photos of this friendly couple together!

So, in the itinerary of our photoshoot, we included time to create a variety of different types of photos of Debbie and Mark that their audience would love the engage with.

Here’s my tips on how to create the best types of brand photos for husband and wife businesses:

1. Photos that show your professionalism

Above all, people want to know that when they engage the services of a local family business that they are professional and will get the job done. So we started our photoshoot by having the couple dress in their professional work uniform - the outfit that client’s would see them in at any meetings or online calls. From these photos people are assured that they pay attention to details, are neat and tidy on site, and are professional to deal with.

2. Photos that highlight each person’s strengths and the part they play in the team.

With any husband and wife team, each person brings their own strengths to the table and has their own part to play. Mark is a home builder by trade, so we wanted to highlight his skills and experience in this area, particularly his personal service from design, the build and all the way through to handover. Debbie is the one engaging with clients throughout the rest of the process from an administration role. We didn’t want to show literal photos of Debbie at her desk, so we instead highlighted her love of design, her passion for customer care and the friendly and approachable nature that helps make a potentially stressful experience a pleasant one.

3. Photos that show a more personal side

Couple brand photos like these can really help potential customers relate to you. Most times, the clients of home builders are couples themselves, so to be able to connect and relate to your home builders on a personal level at a major life event can build trust and confidence.

We engaged Janelle for our corporate team photos and were extremely pleased with the results. She made everyone feel comfortable and brought out the best in each team member. The final images were fantastic, and we are very happy with the outcome. Highly recommended!
