As every photographer works differently, here’s just a little summary of how I work and what you can expect along the way…

Booking Retainer

A non-refundable booking retainer of $220 ($550 for Luxe Sessions) is required to book your photo session and secure your preferred date on my calendar. The balance of your session fee will be payable on or before your session date.

Cancellations & Reschedules

The Booking Retainer is non-refundable. If the session is cancelled, the Booking Retainer will be forfeited and will not be refunded. Of course, unavoidable circumstances sometimes pop up, so sessions may be rescheduled one time if need be. For additional requests to reschedule, another Booking Retainer will be required. Please give me as much notice as you can if you’d like to reschedule. Also, not showing at the agreed location and time will be considered to be a cancellation, and another session fee will be required to book another session time.
For Luxe Sessions, because there is more that one business committing to your photoshoot, there may be additional costs incurred for rebooking the venue and hair & makeup artist.

Refund Policy

Due to the nature of the digital delivereables, no refunds will be permitted once I have delivered your digital files.

If you have conerns about your final images at all, please let me know so I can address and rectify your concerns.

Editing

Your photos will be given a ‘light’ edit, which includes enhancements to exposure, contrast, saturation, hue and sharpness. If you’d like extra editing or image manipulation applied to any photos in particular, please request a quotation for this additional work.

Photo Curation

Even thought you’ll see me take literally hundreds of photos at your session, you won’t be seeing every photo I take. It’s my job to curate the photos for you and show you only the photos that I feel best represent your brand. Depending on your selected package, you’ll receive a link to a ‘selection gallery’ - a collection of the photos I have curated for you. You’ll go through the gallery and choose the photos you’d like included in your package. You’ll also have the opportunity to add more images if you like - the choice is yours!

Image Copyright

Under Australian Law, copyright of a photograph belongs to the person who took the photo, or created the artistic work. As the creator of the image and artistic work, the copyright in and to the images from your session will remain with me. The fee you pay for your session covers both my time and the ‘licence to use’ the images I create. Any portion of the work delivered is for you to use to promote your business. The images may not be sold in any way, given to others as a membership benefit, or used in digital end products available for sale (eg. website templates, design templates, digital books or publications).

If you intend for the images from your session to be sold or used in digital end products available for sale, please let me know and I’ll prepare and custom quotation for you.

Your Use of the Images

Feel free to use, share and use the images for the purposes of promoting your business. There are so many ways to use your new brand photos to promote your business, just a few would be: use on your website, social media profiles and content, blogging (both your blog and any other blog that you write guest articles for), course workbooks, online courses, brochures, flyers, newpaper articles, magazine features, press releases, media kits)

As the images from your session have been custom created to suit your business needs, please do not give or sell the images to other similar businesses or friends to use to promote their businesses (for example if you used another businesses products in your shoot, you’re welcome to tag them in a social media post, but do not send them the image file for them to use in a magazine feature). This would generally only appy to ‘stock images’ and ‘product images’ that we create for you.

To maintain the integrity of my copyrighted work, please do not change, edit or apply filters to the photos from this session IN ANY WAY. This also includes not using Artificial Intelligence (AI) software to edit or change the photos.

My Use of the Images

To help me grow my business, and as the copyright owner, I will be sharing the images from your session on my website and social media platforms to help others decide if I’m the right photographer for them. If you prefer that I don’t share the images from your session online, please let me know via email - I respect everyone’s right to privacy.

Retention of Images

I will keep copies of the images from your session for a period of 12 months from the session date. After this time I may dispose of the images at any time if I need to. I recommend that you make 3 additional backup copies of your purchased photographs for safe-keeping (1. on computer hard drive, 2. on a separate removable storage device, 3. on offsite cloud storage).

What if I Get Sick?

If I, Janelle, become unwell or incapacitated for any reason and cannot attend your session, the session will be rescheduled at no penalty to you. If there is no opportunity to reschedule, all monies paid to date will be fully refunded.
